The following committee posts are vacant in 2025 as current officers are stepping down:-

A brief summary of each role is given further below.

SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE ROLES
Chair
● Chair committee meetings, AGM, Awards Night.
● Ensure that all duties are covered by the committee and prompt or follow up as required.
● Along with the President be the principal link with Welfare Officers.
● Deal with member feedback and concerns in a diplomatic and proactive manner.
● Wednesday announcements.
● Liaison with West Herts.
● Liaison with event “committee owners” (HJ Mile, Wine & Pie, London Trophy, Autumn 10k etc.) to ensure that the necessary support is in place.
● Shout-outs as required.
Social Secretary
● Responsible for planning social events in the Watford Joggers calendar including but not limited to: Pasta Party in April, an event in conjunction with the charity coordinator in late spring, Summer BBQ, Quiz Night in conjunction with the charity coordinator and the Christmas/end of year party.
● Organise ticket sales and shout-outs for social events.
● Liaise with venues as appropriate to determine menus and prices for events.
Social Media Secretary (role potentially split into 2)
● Responsible for running the club's social media accounts, including the public-facing Instagram and Facebook pages and the internal Facebook page for club members.
● Public-facing accounts are used to show the wider running community a selection of club activities and events which they may find of interest, the internal page is used to share information and successes internally.
● As well as increasing the profile of the club, the Social Media Manager has a key role in generating interest in our Autumn 10K race, making sure that the public is aware of it.
● The Social Media manager also deals with messages that come in via the public-facing Instagram and Facebook pages, responding where possible or otherwise signposting individuals to where they can find the information they are after.
Race Coordinator to help support the organisation of Mid-Week league, XC, Autumn 10K
● New role to shadow and support committee members who organise races.
● Will involve gaining an understanding of the processes and procedures and then documenting for succession planning.
● May involve attending external meetings with other running clubs.
Event Coordinator
● New role to help encourage and organise participation in races such as teams at Mid-Week League and Cross Country.
● Could be 2 roles, one for women’s team, one for men’s team.
● Not necessarily a committee role, could be a guest as and when appropriate.
Web designer
● The Committee are looking to recruit a professional website designer who will undertake a complete redesign of the Club's website.
● Ideally, we are looking for someone with expert knowledge of WIX, including code writing.
